Botticino Marble Columns. Handmade in Italy.
Height 100 cm, base and capital 24×24 cm, shaft diameter approximately 12 cm.
Columns in architecture represent the cornerstones of a building, thus symbolizing stability, balance and solidity.
Like many vertical elements, they symbolically connect Earth and Sky, becoming an expression of men’s gratitude towards the gods, as well as stability, strength and perfect balance.
Imposing and elegant, marble columns are a highly effective decorative solution, suitable for any style, from classic to modern. They will easily combine with important antiques, but also with the more modern styles of liberty and rococo inspiration. In contrast with the clean lines of modern and design settings, they will instead be able to give a touch of timeless elegance.
THE MATERIAL.
BOTTICINO MARBLE is a variety of Italian marble extracted mainly in the quarries from which it takes its name, in the Brescia area.
Made famous throughout the world thanks to monuments such as the Altare della Patria, the White House in Washington and the Statue of Liberty, it stands out for its refined texture with a beige background, crossed by delicate veining in shades of brown.
Its chromatic characteristics, combined with extreme compactness and low levels of absorption and porosity make it ideal for large internal and external coverings.
Widely used in modern architecture for stairways and floors, it is also recently finding great use in interior decoration.
The neutral tone of the background gives brightness to the rooms, while the warm tone of the veins will meet the taste of classic-style furnishings. Therefore, the combination with the precious woods and brass typical of antiques will be almost natural. On the other hand, the combination with more modern and minimalist settings will be bold and refined.
