THE MATERIAL.
Levanto red marble, is a variety of Italian marble with a purplish-red coloring , the background of this stone is characterized by a predominantly reddish pigmentation, on which a striking and dense network of glossy white veins stands out.
This variety of red marble is extracted in Liguria, mainly in the municipality of Levanto, from which it takes its name. The alternation between the veins of a radiant white and the variety of reddish tones is visually appealing and extremely elegant, so much so that Levanto red marble is a favorite choice of architects and interior designers; in fact, its technical-structural qualities make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, for floors, columns, fireplaces and stairs. Some of the most famous works made with this marble include the Cathedral of San Lorenzo in Genoa and the Church on Spilled Blood in St. Petersburg.
White marble has always been considered among the most fascinating and synonymous with elegance and refinement. Indeed, the combination of the two marbles is particularly effective and elegant, ideal for enhancing the intensity of antique furniture and all shades of wood, but also the clean, stylized lines favored by modern interior design.
