‘Il Covone‘ depicts the stage of tying sheaves of wheat by hand. The deliberately elementary modelling was chosen to represent a peasant scene by the Florentine sculptor Donatello Gabbrielli in the first half of the 20th century. A delicate representation, it is at its best when combined with the panels from ‘ the Sowing‘ and ‘The Reaping‘ series.

THE PROCESSING

Each terracotta object is hand-moulded in high relief. The creation of each object requires precise processing times, drying at natural temperature, baking in the oven, cooling at natural temperature. Delivery of some items can take approximately 20 days, which may also vary based on weather conditions.
