It is for all intents and purposes a glass, generated by the rapid cooling of lava, inside of which are large amounts of silica. Due to heat shock, this mineral-rich amorphous mass is generated. Depending on its composition, the coloration of this stone can be quite varied. <\/span><\/p>\n

Obsidian is a symbol of protection, purification and healing. It is believed to absorb and transform negative energies, promoting awareness and truth. <\/span><\/p>\n
