The marble column, due to its grandeur and its meaning, goes well with places of worship, enriched gardens, dining rooms with modern or ancient style, enhancing with their beauty in every environment making it unique.<\/p>\n

In Roman culture columns have a votive function and are built to commemorate a victory or triumph. The column, like many vertical elements, puts in communication the earth and the sky, becoming a symbol of gratitude of men to the gods.<\/p>\n

Materials<\/h3>\n

\"marble-black-portoro\"Portoro marble<\/strong>, or Portovenere marble, is a prized variety of Italian marble from the beautiful Gulf of Poets, in the Ligurian province of La Spezia, and is one of the most beautiful of polychrome marbles. It is a very precious Italian stone of an intense and brilliant black color with golden veins ranging from intense yellow to honey color. The peculiarity of its appearance makes it a unique marble, irreplaceable as an ornamental material.<\/p>\n

There is no stone like it, so distinctive and so luxuriously sophisticated. Portoro is a true work of art of nature, in front of which it is easy to be enchanted.<\/p>\n

The appearance of its texture is a deep and intense black, almost velvety, particularly noticeable in the polished plates, on which it seems that gold has been poured from a glass. Veins, streaks, spots and shadows are actually the result of the presence of pyrite and ocher-limonite substances.<\/p>\n
